ABOUT
Charles Baskerville is a composer, music producer, and the founder of Baskerville Media. An alumnus of the Berklee College of Music, Charles bridges the gap between structured orchestration and modern sound design. His path as a musician was shaped by his involvement in numerous bands throughout the Richmond, VA area in the early 2000s, providing him with a foundation in live performance that informed his later transition into professional studio work. His career has since spanned a wide spectrum of the industry, including commercial advertising, jingle composition, and film scoring.
Having developed his technical expertise while editing on reel-to-reel tape in the 1990s, Charles has seamlessly evolved alongside the industry, mastering the complex DAW environments that power today’s high-fidelity productions. He enjoys exploring the expressive potential of complex musical elements—such as unconventional time signatures, specific harmonic modes, and polyrhythmic textures—to build immersive audio experiences. His work ranges from expansive progressive rock operas and cinematic metal to avant-garde ambient noir.
His approach is defined by a focus on high-fidelity production and detail, whether he is developing audio-reactive visual systems in TouchDesigner or crafting intricate studio arrangements. His current catalog, featuring projects such as Jonah, Malachi, and Lamentations, reflects his commitment to storytelling and exploring new sonic territory.
